or "…TO BE SURE OF HITTING THE TARGET, SHOOT FIRST AND CALL WHATEVER YOU HIT THE TARGET.. Is that the way we gain the trust of our audience and get them to engage? Sometimes, when we start something new, we feel a bit that way, don't we? ....How about learning that "we don't know what we don't know?...so why is it that people won't buy from you or join your business? I'll tell you. Now, there may be a handful of reasons, but there's one that's right up there at the top, and it's probably NOT what you think. It's not:
Nope, it's none of those. The REAL reason people hesitate to make a decision about buying something, including joining a business (because that too is a sale), is because... They do NOT trust you ….. (or me) ……and for a good reason. Good Old Healthy Skepticism With the amount of garbage online today, people are VERY skeptical…… and who can blame them? If you sell anything, you are guilty until proven innocent. Like it or not... those are the FACTS. Unless you can get someone to trust you:
Now here's the thing... In a face to face situation, you have some time to get them to like you and trust you. You can have a conversation and create some rapport. But online it's a whole different story. And since most people skim websites, and click around, with most of your visitors you never even have a chance, which is why it's super important to have a strategy and a system in place to create this unshakable trust with your prospects. If you do, you can expect big things to happen. But if you don't, your cash register will be a scary place to look at by the end of the day. So how do you do it? How do you develop this trust with complete strangers through some pixels on their monitor? Glad you asked. This is one of the crucial elements of Attraction Marketing. The ability to get people to TRUST you. The Secret Lies in "Attraction.." Attraction We need our audience to trust us and visit often. We need them to enjoy visiting our sites and our social media pages. We need them to interact with us and join in the conversation, and we need them to want to buy our products, or join our team, because we can help them solve their needs, or their problems, or their consumer tastes, or they just feel a part of the family. So, we need to discover how to attract people into your pipeline, and quickly build trust and develop rapport with them. We need to learn how to deal with a skeptical prospect, and quickly turn the tables on all the skeptics, by eliminating many of the usual objections. ..and what is the best way to do that? Trust by Engagement. We need to engage with our audience. But first, we need the audience. You will read a lot online about this or that social media lead generation tool and yes, you should learn how to use Instagram, and Snapchat and Twitter, Facebook and Google, and a few more, but the easiest way of getting it all started is TO BUILD YOUR LIST, using email What is a List"? Just that, a list of clients, a database – every business needs one, from the little corner store, to the biggest companies. Why, because your loyal customer base will be your support mechanism, and it is a well-known fact in business, that it is way more cost effective to sell to a loyal customer than to find a customer in the first place, so if all of your customers "vote with their feet" and leave, you will spend all of your time and energy and a good deal of money trying to replace them, when you should be concentrating on looking after them – never forgetting that loyal customers will help you to spread your message, so they are a multiplier for your business. Online businesses are no different, but it is a lot more important because we don't have a physical store where people can just walk in off the street. We have to capture their interest and imagination in a very short time span. In the online world, people in this era are well informed, savvy buyers, who do their research online and they come to buy with credit card at the ready, so we need to be able to fulfil their needs and solve their problems or cater to their whims, and we do that by attracting enough of those to our website/ blog/ online store and then keeping them interested. How Many Do I Need? Nobody can really answer that but you, but take comfort in the fact that at any given moment the number of people online may be in the tens or hundreds of millions and even allowing for people being asleep, offline or not being able to speak your language, there are plenty out there and you need to only find a very small percentage. Think of the internet as a huge river teeming with millions of little fish, swimming right past you – all you have to do is put your net in and grab as many as you can. Well a faulty lead capture technique is the same as a net with too many big holes in it, so the fish swim right back out again. Even if there are only 200 million people online and you decide you want 10,000 on your list (and that is a small number by internet marketing standards) that represents 0.005% of all the people online, at that moment in time. When you also realise that there are people out there actively looking for what you have to sell or offer, it is not too hard to find them. Just takes a bit of work, trial and error and eventually, analytics to work out if you are on the right track, and many of those people are happy to be on lots of peoples' lists. Why Do I Always Hear That I Have to Build my List? Well, in short:
So – Principle #1 – Get them to your Webpage or Blog Using Email What are the Email List Building Principles? – What do I need to do with my Email Campaigns? Email Marketing is a driving force in lead generation and for quite some time now businesses looking for an affordable method of marketing have turned to email marketing. However, the biggest challenge most marketers face is improving the “open and read rate”. There are a lot of creative ways marketers can explore to ensure that emails targeted towards a specific subset of customers are read and in this article we will discuss some of the most common methods. Develop Catchy Subject Lines One of the best ways to improve your “open and read Rate” is to develop catchy and creative subject lines for all your emails. A lot of people often decide whether or not to open an email message based on the subject line, so making it interesting and provoking can be a perfect strategy to increase the percentage of emails which are actually read. You can try to put in some numbers and facts in your subjects but also make sure they are short, non-formal and most importantly concise and straight to the point. Optimize Your Mailing List Secondly, it is important to always send out your email messages to people who actually care. There is no value in sending loads of emails to lots of people who perhaps have no idea who you are. Therefore, when you are developing the mailing list always target potential subscribers that may have some interest in your business or the products it offers. Additionally, try to refresh and improve your mailing list so that every time your email goes out someone somewhere is expecting it. Know the right time to hit send Well, email marketing has since been automated with a broad diversity of software but you can still schedule your emails so that they are sent at specific time frames. It is important to first of all understand at what time your target audiences check out their inbox. Ideally, people would normally check their inboxes at mid-morning hours and as such sending your messages at this time can be a great way to improve your open and read rates. However, this is not definite and it’s crucial that you adapt to your own target audience and understand when they check their inboxes and at what frequency so that you can schedule your email marketing campaign accordingly. However, don't get too hung up on analysis or analytics when you are first starting out – make some mistakes, get your audience started and then worry about what comes next – the best thing to do is to concentrate on getting a fair bit of good, readable and reliable content on your site, so that when the audience lands, they have something worthwhile to read. Email marketing is a great tool to maintain customer loyalty and improve sales. The above three tips should help you improve your “open and read rates” with no hassle at all. But here is tip number four – none of the above will work unless you are genuine and can win the trust of your readers, so you have to be someone of value to them. Build It and They Will Come. Won’t They? Once a person visits your site, you can use a lead capture form to ask for their email and bingo, they are on your list. Easy, right? Not so fast – that is the easy bit – the hard part comes next – you better be prepared to give something of value in return. Getting the picture? Notice the terms used throughout – value, trust, loyalty, engagement, and more Now We Need to Engage with Our Audience It can be hard to start out blogging and find engaging content and fresh material.
